Javier Milei opposed a bill that was passed in September in favour of raising teachers' salaries and increases in university budgets against a backdrop of high inflation.
The Argentine president believes that universities mainly serve the rich.
Teachers' living standards have fallen considerably as a result of inflation, although in October inflation was at its lowest level for three years.
