Hosting global football tournaments has left a long-lasting legacy for the Gulf state.

With the success of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup tournaments, Qatar has emerged as a destination for football events.  

This has had a flow-on effect in the region, as Morocco and Saudi Arabia host the 2030 and 2034 FIFA World Cups, respectively.
